What are goals?
1. Goals is desired result that we want to achieve soon or in the future.
2. Characteristic of goals
- specific
- well defined
- achieveable
- realistic
- timed for success
- relevant to job
3. Types of goals;
- Short term goals ; Something that you want to accomplish soon
- Long term goals ; Goals that take a long time to achieve
4. Academic goals ; Related to your studies example completed all assignments given, get the Dean’s awards every sem, complete my studies on Diploma Accountancy
5. Personal goals ; related to career or things examples like cars or house
Set goals for the new semester
- Get the Dean’s list every semester
- Completed assignments on time
- Managed time well
- Go to every class
Writing effective goal statement
Use the five step approach;
1. Tentative goal statement. Example; i want to get the Dean’s list
2. List of obstacles. Example; the assignment and exam are really hard
3. List of resources. Example; I will ask for a help from lecturer, join study group
4. Review and revised goal statement. Example; i will try my best to get the Dean’s list
5. Polished goal statement. Examples; i will get that Dean’s list this semester.
Using the Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- A Learning Management Systems is a software application for companies or educational institutions assess a specific learning process.
